Slow Down, Sis

Posted by jaha Knight on

There’s a place inside you,
Hiding beneath the weight of this world’s relentless beat,
A place where magic breathes—
Where time is your own,
Where you’re free to breathe,
To feel without rushing,
To be without explaining.

She’s in there,
That little girl with wild dreams,
The one who saw the world through eyes full of wonder,
She didn’t chase the clock,
She lived with time,
Wandered through her days like they were hers to mold,
She knew joy wasn’t something you chase,
It’s something you allow.

The world told you to hustle,
To give everything until there’s nothing left,
To measure your worth in what you can produce.
But what if, just for a moment,
You remembered her?
That little girl who danced barefoot in the sun,
Who rested in the quiet and let her spirit be.

What if you took your time—
Not to fill the hours,
But to feel the space in between?
To slow your pulse and listen to the whispers,
To let your heart move in rhythm with your truth.

Sis, slow living isn’t laziness,
It’s honoring the sacred pause—
The moments you allow for reclamation.
It’s coloring without stress,
Writing without wondering if it’s enough,
It’s sitting with your thoughts and letting them unfold without fear.

Slow living isn’t a trend,
It’s the medicine you didn’t know you needed,
The grace your soul has been asking for.
You’re not just surviving—you’re reclaiming.
You’re reclaiming your space,
Your time,
Your worth.

Your inner child isn’t in a hurry,
She knows the power of the present moment.
She whispers to you,
Sis, it’s time to rest,
Time to feel the sun kiss your skin,
To let the rhythm of the earth remind you that you belong.

So slow down,
And let her lead you.
She’s the quiet song in your soul,
The melody you’ve forgotten,
The dance you’ve missed.
Listen. Let her remind you that peace is a place you can live in.
It’s always been yours.
